Money transfers from the Bulgarian community abroad reached an impressive 420 million euros in the first quarter of 2025, representing a significant growth of 15.7% compared to the previous year. The statistics reveal the extensive financial support that our compatriots provide to their homeland.
Leading countries in money transfer volume are the United States with 77.6 million euros, followed by the Federal Republic of Germany with 76 million euros and the United Kingdom with 74.2 million euros. Spain also stands out with transfers of 40.6 million euros.
Economic experts emphasize that these funds are of utmost importance for small and medium-sized settlements in Bulgaria. The transfers stimulate local business, increase tax revenues, and contribute to the economic stability of the regions.
In the context of the national program "I Choose Bulgaria", aimed at bringing back qualified Bulgarian specialists, these financial flows are viewed as a key factor in the country's economic recovery and development.
