The legislative framework must be adequate and guarantee citizens' rights in a way that prevents political manipulation and abuse by institutions. This was stated by the Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev to reporters in the corridors of parliament, answering a question related to the upcoming changes in two bills. These bills provide for changes in the procedure for appointing the heads of key state agencies.

Minister Georgiev emphasized the need for legislation to meet current needs. He explained that where there is a right, for example, the right to consultation, abuse is often observed. "Where there is a right - let's say the right to consult, abuse of the right, abuse of the right to consult another institution, often occurs," he added.

Today, MPs are expected to discuss the proposed changes. They provide for the heads of two key agencies to be elected by the National Assembly on the proposal of the Council of Ministers. Currently, these heads are appointed by decree of the President. The changes in the bills were introduced by Alexander Rashev and a group of MPs from the ruling coalition. Discussions in parliament are expected to be intense, given the sensitivity of the topic and the potential impact of the changes on the balance of power. The atmosphere in the corridors of parliament is tense as MPs prepare for debates. The topic provokes lively discussions.
