New appointments in the management of the Customs Agency
Stefan Bakalov has been appointed Deputy Director of the Customs Agency by an order of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Galab Donev. The change comes as part of a series of personnel reshuffles within the institution.
Bakalov brings over 35 years of experience in the system, specializing in the fight against drug trafficking and customs intelligence.
Who is Stefan Bakalov?
- Expert experience: Over 24 years in management positions in the "Drug Trafficking Control" department.
- Education: Master's degree in International Relations with numerous specializations in the USA (DEA Academy in Quantico, Secret Service) and Europe.
- International activities: Expert at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and representative in the "Pompidou" Group of the Council of Europe.
New appointments and administrative changes
Along with him, Georgi Gospodinov also assumes a key position. He has over 14 years of experience, having served as head of the "Kapitan Andreevo" Border Crossing Point and the "Burgas Port - Center" Customs Office. Gospodinov holds a Master's degree in National Security.
We remind you that in the middle of the month, Nikolay Shushkov was appointed Director of the Customs Agency, replacing the dismissed Georgi Dimov.
