Reform in the Ministry of Interior: Minister Demerdzhiev closes an ineffective unit
Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev announced his intention to close the unit for assisting the minister. According to him, more than 30 people have been appointed to management positions within it who do not perform any substantial work but still receive compensation.
"Some of the people will be reassigned, while others are symbols of some of the ugliest practices in the Ministry of Interior – people who have tarnished the honor and dignity of the department cannot remain," the minister emphasized.
Key highlights from the statement:
- The goal is to reallocate resources to fill staff positions for police officers in the field.
- Two commissions have been appointed – one to audit the administration and one to review the Ministry of Interior Act.
- Results from the structural changes are expected within three weeks.
Demerdzhiev made the statement during the graduation of students from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior.
