Members of Parliament from the "Continue the Change" party blocked access to the Parliament_s service parking lot, preventing the possible entry of Delyan Peevski through the service entrance on "Prince Alexander Dondukov" Boulevard.
The atmosphere in front of the Parliament was tense. MPs from "Continue the Change" gathered with cars blocked access, primarily to prevent Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski from using the service entrance. This action, according to statements by PP representatives, is a sign of solidarity with the detained mayor of Varna and former deputy mayor of Sofia.
The situation escalated when PP MPs temporarily moved one of the blocking cars to allow the passage of an ambulance from "Lozenets" hospital. The presence of police officers on motorcycles escalated to the creation of a police cordon, preventing any access other than emergency services. Kiril Petkov personally remained in front of the entrance, emphasizing his firm position.
"We promised that if there was an ambulance, we would make way. An ambulance arrived and we made way, and on both sides the police made a cordon and I stood in the middle to guarantee that Peevski would not enter through this entrance, no matter how many police officers there are. They will have to personally carry me out for Peevski to enter from here"
He added: "I hope that the gendarmerie and the police will fulfill their promise that only ambulances and fire trucks will have access, but no MP, including the most expensive car in this country – Peevski_s, who is a simple MP but has a more expensive car than the Prime Minister of the country, will not be allowed in. It would be very funny if the fat cat of the state was put in the ambulance in the trunk, I would be glad. If he is so afraid, he may have hidden, I don"t know".
His speeches were accompanied by visible tension among those present.
The increased police presence around the Parliament was evident, with restricted vehicle movement around the building and in the parking lot behind it. PP MPs took positions at every entrance.
