Fires in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours: 83 extinguished, one injured

In the last 24 hours, 83 fires were extinguished in Bulgaria, and fire departments responded to 120 incidents. One person was injured in a fire at a horse riding center in Varna.

A total of 83 fires were extinguished in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the General Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection” of the Ministry of Interior. The information is as of 6:00 a.m. this morning.

In the last 24 hours, the fire departments have responded to 120 signals for incidents.

32 fires occurred with direct material damage, of which 19 – in residential buildings; one – in an industrial building; five – in vehicles, etc.

51 fires occurred without material damage, of which two – in dry grass, forest litter and shrubs; 25 – in waste; 18 – in cooking appliances and chimneys.

24 rescue activities and support operations were carried out, including four – in traffic accidents; 20 – as technical assistance with providing assistance in various situations.

Yesterday at 2:54 a.m. in the Operational Center at the Regional Directorate Fire Safety and Population Protection – Varna, a report was received about a fire in the “Khan Asparuh” equestrian base in the Asparuhovo district. Four fire trucks with 14 employees were sent to the scene of the incident. A 52-year-old man was injured in the fire, who has second-degree burns on his fingers and a wound on his forehead. He inhaled smoke and toxic fumes. The man is for examination and treatment at the toxicology center of the “St. Marina” University Hospital. The cause of the fire was a short circuit in a lighting cable.
