Three people were injured as a result of fires recorded in the past 24 hours, the General Directorate "Border Police" of the Ministry of Interior announced on its website. The tragic echo of these incidents casts a shadow over the daily lives of people in the country.
The first case that attracts attention is the one from the town of Vetovo, Ruse region. There, as a result of an incident involving an exploding gas bottle, two people were injured - a 62-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman. Both suffered burns and were admitted for treatment at the Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment "Medica" in Ruse.
The second case, which reminds us of the need for increased attention and caution, is from the town of Berkovitsa. A 32-year-old man was injured in a fire in an apartment. He suffered burns to his right arm after trying to light a solid fuel stove using gasoline. The injured person received medical assistance from the Emergency Medical Aid Branch in the city.
In response to these and other incidents, the fire services in the country responded to a total of 56 calls. 26 fires were successfully extinguished. Of these, 15 caused direct material damage. These fires occurred in various objects, including residential buildings (11 cases), auxiliary, temporary or makeshift buildings (2 cases), a means of transport (1 case) and another object (1 case). On the other hand, 11 fires passed without material damage. These fires occurred in waste (8 cases), cooking appliances and chimneys (2 cases) and another object (1 case).
In addition, 28 rescue activities and support operations were carried out in the past 24 hours. These operations were necessary in case of accidents in vehicles, industrial accidents, domestic incidents and to provide assistance to other structures of the Ministry of Interior.
A tragic incident that occurred last night further emphasizes the need for increased attention and quick reaction. At 21:24 in the Operational Center of the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" in Varna, a message was received about a man who had fallen from the castle of the fortress "Ovech" above the town of Provadia, in a wooded area. One fire team from Provadia was immediately sent to the scene, as well as a team from the "Specialized Operational Activities" Sector. At the scene, the teams found the lifeless body of the man. A team from the Emergency Medical Aid Center also arrived, which confirmed the death. After an inspection by the Operational Investigation Group from the Provadia Regional Police Department, the fire service officers assisted in carrying the body to an ambulance.
The specifics of the work of the fire services in the country are not always clear to the general public, but there is a great risk to the lives of those working in them. Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, two false calls have also been received by the fire services, "Border Police" added.
