The team at UMBAL Burgas, who are fighting for the lives of those injured in the serious ATV crash on August 14, have received unexpectedly strong support from the patients themselves. In an emotional letter addressed to the Ministry of Health, the Regional Health Inspectorate (RZI), and the hospital management, the victims of the incident expressed deep gratitude for the life-saving care they received.

This gratitude, however, is not just a gesture of appreciation, but a call for an immediate response. The lawyers representing the five injured individuals—attorneys Nikolay Dimitrov and Georgi Radkov—insist in their letter on the urgent suspension of all checks being carried out at the medical facility in connection with the treatment of their clients.

"All of our clients are satisfied with the treatment they received, and we have no complaints about it"
, the official statement emphasizes. The legal professionals are adamant that the medics invested all their heart and professionalism to help the patients, who were in critical condition after the incident.

Extensive Help to Save Lives

The serious crash that shook the public on August 14 led to the hospitalization of three children, one woman, and one man. As of today, two of the injured still remain under medical supervision, while the others have been discharged. An exceptionally wide range of specialists were involved in saving their lives. A total of 15 different hospital departments and units worked in full synchrony to provide the best possible care. The complex process involved:

The scale of the assistance provided is truly impressive. Over 100 different examinations were performed as part of the treatment, including highly specialized procedures. The patients underwent both conservative and complex surgical treatment, and the efforts of nearly 300 medical personnel were coordinated to achieve success. The team's selflessness was palpable, as they worked around the clock to stabilize the patients' condition and give them a chance for recovery.

Siyana's father, Nikolay Popov, who lost his daughter in a tragic crash in March of this year, also joined the wave of gratitude. In a touching gesture of respect and appreciation for the work of the medics at UMBAL Burgas, he donated a mobile ultrasound machine for the needs of the Intensive Care and Resuscitation Department. His act is a symbolic recognition of the sacrifice of the doctors who lead the most difficult battle every day—the one for human life. This act of solidarity from a parent who has experienced the greatest loss underscores how valuable the work of medical professionals is and how their dedication can inspire others to help as well.
