A police operation in Sunny Beach uncovers large-scale trade in laughing gas.

During a specialized police operation in a resort nightclub in Sunny Beach, hundreds of magazines, balloons and flasks with nitrous oxide were found and seized. Two sellers and several individuals using nitrous oxide were identified, and warning protocols were drawn up. Checks for illegal trade and use of the so-called "laughing gas" will continue throughout the resort season.

Employees of the "Economic" and "Criminal Police" departments at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas have conducted a specialized operation in a nightclub in Sunny Beach, during which 300 cartridges, numerous balloons and bottles containing nitrous oxide were found and seized. Two sellers of the prohibited substance were identified, as well as several people in the establishment using nitrous oxide.

Warning protocols were drawn up for the sellers for non-compliance with the requirements - nitrous oxide should not be sold for use in enclosed spaces and to minors. The materials collected in the case will be reported to the District Prosecutor's Office - Burgas and the Regional Health Inspectorate for taking action within their competence.

Checks for the sale and use of nitrous oxide will continue throughout the season in all resort areas, relying on the element of surprise and pre-acquired information.

It is recalled that the use of the so-called "laughing gas" poses many health risks, including dizziness, hallucinations, reduced pain sensitivity, muscle spasms, impaired coordination and lack of balance, paranoia.
