Over 700 police teams have been mobilized to ensure safety on the roads in the country. This was announced to journalists at the National Coordination Center for Road Safety by Chief Inspector Lachezar Bliznakov from the "Road Police" department to the General Directorate "National Police". His statement comes at a time when traffic on Bulgarian roads is expected to increase.

The atmosphere in the coordination center was tense, with information constantly coming in from the country's arterial roads. The teams worked diligently, monitoring the situation in real time.

Today, according to the chief inspector, the repair work on the AM "Trakia" motorway is ending. But, at the same time, new repairs are starting on the AM "Hemus", which will last about a month. The repair of the AM "Hemus", at the 20th kilometer, will introduce changes in the organization of traffic. Traffic will be two-way in one lane, and there will also be organized reversible traffic, he explained.

For days with more intense traffic, such as Friday, Saturday and Sunday, additional road teams are planned, said Lachezar Bliznakov. Everything seemed ready to welcome the influx of travelers. He appealed to drivers to be careful, to follow the markings and signals on the road. He also reminded that the use of the emergency stopping lane is only allowed in areas with temporary traffic organization. As a main priority in police actions, Chief Inspector Bliznakov emphasized the prevention of violations, which are often the cause of road accidents.
