The Municipality of Peshtera is undertaking a large-scale project to renovate two multi-family residential buildings, which will be financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The investment amounts to nearly 1,800,000 leva, with 351,000 leva from national funding, and the municipal contribution being minimal - only 1,100 leva.
According to an official statement from the municipal administration, the project implementation contracts have already been signed by Mayor Yordan Mladenov and representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. The planned construction and installation works include large-scale energy-saving measures.
The planned activities cover comprehensive thermal insulation of the external walls, roof, and floor of the buildings. Additionally, a complete replacement of windows and doors will be carried out in both residential and common areas of the buildings. The ultimate goal of the interventions is to achieve energy class "A", which will directly reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Mayor Mladenov emphasized that the project is aimed at providing modern and comfortable living conditions that meet contemporary sustainable development criteria. In addition, architectural accessibility for all residents will be guaranteed.
The investment period is set at 18 months. Parallel to this project, renovation activities have already started in two other residential blocks using the same mechanism. At its last session, the Peshtera Municipal Council expanded the scope of the Integrated Development Plan for the period 2021-2027, including additional important infrastructure projects for the region.
