The chairman of the parliamentary group "DPS-New Beginning" Delyan Peevski launched a sharp critique of the judicial system through an official letter to the media. The occasion is the decision of the Varna Appellate Court to apply house arrest to a young driver who is responsible for a tragic traffic accident in the city of Razgrad.

In the press center's statement, Peevski emphasizes the exceptional seriousness of the case. According to him, applying such a light detention measure sends an extremely negative signal to the entire society.

The politician categorically stated that the current situation requires immediate actions to restore state institutions. In his letter, he underlined that the judicial system is compromised by "self-forgotten magistrates" who do not take into account the gravity of the committed crime.

The specific case involves a 19-year-old youth who, while driving a motor vehicle, caused the death of three people in the Razgrad area. The court panel assessed that house arrest is a sufficient preventive measure, which provoked a sharp reaction from Delyan Peevski.

The political leader's statement emphasizes the need to rethink judicial practice and apply stricter mechanisms when examining similar incidents with a fatal outcome.

The case continues to provoke a wide public debate about the adequacy of criminal policy and responsibility in serious road incidents with human casualties.
