Summer travel without traffic jams: API halts roadworks
To ensure a safe and comfortable journey for all vacationers, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has officially announced the suspension of repair works on busy national roads during the peak summer season.
The measures aim to avoid traffic congestion towards the Black Sea coast and border crossings with Greece.
Key schedule changes
- Road I-9 (Obzor – Sunny Beach): Planned asphalt works have been postponed to a later stage so as not to impede intensive traffic.
- "Trakia" Motorway: Repairs in the direction of Plovdiv will be completed by the end of the month, and the section in the Stara Zagora region will be ready by July 3.

The RIA urges drivers to be careful on the road, strictly follow traffic rules, and not to undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all travelers.
