Eight people were injured in eight serious accidents across the country in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior announced. This information highlights the alarming trend of increasing road insecurity, which has caused serious concern in society.

In the capital, Sofia, 27 minor road accidents were registered, which fortunately did not result in any injuries. Nevertheless, the number of these incidents reminds us of the need for increased attention and adherence to traffic rules, even in conditions of relative safety.

Since the beginning of the current month, 228 accidents have occurred, as a result of which 13 people have lost their lives and 291 have been injured. These figures represent the grim reality of the roads and the need for urgent measures to improve traffic safety. This information comes at a time when questions about the effectiveness of road infrastructure and compliance with the law are particularly relevant.

Even more alarming are the data from the beginning of the year. From January to now, a total of 5362 road accidents have been registered. In them, 339 people died and 6702 were injured. This statistic paints a sad picture of lost human lives and injured people, which emphasizes the need for immediate and effective measures to prevent such tragedies.

The Ministry of Interior reports that compared to the same period in 2024, in 2025 there were 18 fewer deaths of road users. Despite this positive trend, the number of victims and injured remains alarmingly high, which necessitates additional efforts to improve road safety and reduce the risk of incidents.
