Patients of the Complex Oncological Center in Burgas organized a celebration in front of the building of the medical facility on the occasion of World Health Day. The initiative is by Kremena Kraeva – a patient who has successfully undergone treatment for breast cancer, who commented that the idea is to express gratitude to the medical teams for their care and support.
Doctors, patients and their relatives gathered in front of the center's building. Children from the Music School in the city participated in the festive program with concert performances. Representatives of the motorcycle club „Morski Bratya“ (Sea Brothers) also took part in the event, who made a tour around the hospital. Some of the patients got on the motorcycles, briefly stepping out of their daily treatment routine.
The patients expressed their gratitude to the doctors and defined them as a leading force in the fight against oncological diseases.
The manager of the medical facility, Prof. Hristo Bozov, stated that the team is working to improve the quality of treatment by introducing modern technologies. He specified that 270,000 euros have been invested in the creation of a Prostate Center, and an investment of 3 million euros for a new linear accelerator is forthcoming.
Currently, over 23,000 patients are under dispensary care at the center, and their number has increased by about 3,000 compared to the previous year. More than 14,000 people undergo inpatient or outpatient treatment.
