Meteorological experts from NIMH have introduced an official yellow code for dangerous hot weather, which covers 21 administrative regions in the country. The warning affects regions from Northern and Southern Bulgaria, including Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Vratsa, and others.
The forecast clearly indicates extreme temperature values between 35 and 37 degrees, which pose serious health risks. Specialists emphasize the potential danger for the elderly, children, and people with chronic diseases, who are most vulnerable under such climatic conditions.
Today's synoptic picture predicts extremely sunny weather with variable wind activity. In the eastern regions, a moderate wind, occasionally strong, is expected from an eastern direction. Temperatures will continue to rise, with maximum values reaching between 34° and 39°, with Sofia forecast to be around 34 degrees.
The Black Sea region will have similar characteristics - sunny weather with an east wind of weak to moderate intensity. The sea temperature will vary between 26° and 27°, and the wave height will be in the range of 2 to 3 points.
Mountain regions will also be subjected to intensive sun exposure. The wind will be weak, up to moderate in higher areas, with a north-northeast direction. At an altitude of 1200 meters, the temperature will reach around 29°, while at 2000 meters it will be around 22 degrees.
