Yellow code for dangerous heat across the country
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a warning for dangerously hot weather in 14 regions of Bulgaria. Today, expected maximum temperatures will reach levels between 35° and 37°.
Be careful with sun exposure during the hours between 12:00 and 17:00, when the intensity of UV rays is at its highest.
Which regions are affected?
The yellow code warning is in effect for the following regions:
- Vidin, Montana, Vratsa
- Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra
- Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv
- Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Yambol
Weather forecast
During the day, the weather will be mostly sunny. In the afternoon, insignificant cumulus clouds will develop over the mountains. The wind will be light, and in the eastern regions – up to moderate, from the east-northeast.
Maximum temperatures for the country will vary between 32° and 37°, with around 32° expected for Sofia.
Safety tips:
- Drink plenty of water and fluids.
- Avoid heavy food and alcohol.
- Wear light-colored clothing made of light fabrics.
- Do not leave children or pets in parked cars, even for a short time.
