A large-scale fire disaster shook the village of Seliminovo today in the afternoon, destroying dozens of private properties and farm buildings. According to initial data, about 20 properties have fallen victim to the rapidly spreading fire, which threatened the entire settlement.
Local authorities reported that the fire front started from the eastern part of the populated area, with extremely favorable conditions for its spread being the dry grass and shrubs in the region. The strong wind further accelerated the growth of the flames, which in a matter of minutes engulfed the upper part of the village.
Among the destroyed property are numerous farm buildings, private gardens, and one cargo van. Despite the scale of the disaster, local authorities managed to prevent the spread of fire towards residential buildings, thus saving the homes of local residents.
The mayor of Seliminovo, Todor Todorov, shared with reporters that the most likely cause of the fire is human negligence, suspecting that children are behind the incident. "Human negligence. It's children, but we don't know who they are," he commented.
At the moment, there are no reports of injured people, which is the only positive news against the background of significant material damage. Additional checks are pending to determine the exact cause and perpetrators of the fire.
