The fire near Simeonovgrad has been localized

The large fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon in the municipality of Simeonovgrad has been brought under control. The news was officially confirmed by the press center of the regional administration in Haskovo.

The blaze covered a total area of 700 decares, including 100 decares of forest, 100 decares of stubble fields, and 500 decares of non-forest vegetation.

Fighting the fire

Five teams of firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire. The affected areas encompass the lands of three villages:

A team from the Regional Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection in Haskovo remained on site throughout the night. The duty was aimed at preventing the fire from reigniting.

High danger in the region

Despite the situation being brought under control, the fire danger in the Haskovo region remains high. A yellow code for high temperatures is in effect for today, which necessitates increased caution on the part of residents and farmers.
