Hours before the determined measure of "bail" for the mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, came into effect, an appeal was filed in the Varna Regional Court by one of his defenders.
The lawyer disputes the amount of the guarantee – 200,000 leva. The defense insists that either no measure of detention should be determined, or that it should be the lightest – "signature bond." The appeal is to be considered by the Varna Appellate Court.
Mayor Blagomir Kotsev, who spent nearly five months in custody, was released on a 200,000 leva bail on November 28th. On December 1st, he returned to work at the Varna Municipality.
