Environmental Concern: Training on Separate Waste Collection in Sozopol

Within the framework of an ambitious project to improve the environmental situation in the Black Sea basin, Sozopol Municipality announces the conduct of one-day training sessions on separate waste collection. The initiative, part of the BSB00027 (Go2Recycling) project for cross-border cooperation, aims to improve recycling and waste management practices.

Our reporter is on the spot, where this important event is expected with great interest. The mood in the city is filled with hope for a cleaner future. People are concerned about the environment, and the opportunity for training seems particularly attractive.

The training, which will be held within a one-day seminar, aims to raise awareness regarding the correct separation of waste, creating sustainable practices for its disposal. It will be led by trainers, according to a program developed by the project partners, based on shared good European practices. At the center of the training are several key goals: promoting the importance of separate collection, creating waste management practices, promoting the circular economy at the local level, as well as engaging stakeholders in reducing mixed waste.

The training sessions will be held in groups of 20 participants, with a duration of one day, combining theoretical lectures with practical exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in the pilot campaign of Sozopol Municipality, applying to receive a separate waste collection bin in their households.

Applications for participation in the first stage are accepted from two target groups: local businesses in Sozopol and non-governmental organizations operating in the territory of the Municipality.

The training sessions will be held in the building of the "Otets Paisiy 1896" Community Center in the "Kino Video Club" hall in Sozopol. Two dates are scheduled: October 23, 2025, for local businesses and October 25, 2025, for non-governmental organizations.
