"ViK - Burgas" business plan returned for revision
The Association for Water Supply and Sewerage – Burgas has decided to return the business plan of the water utility company for the period 2027–2031. The main reason for the refusal is the planned increase in water prices, which is not sufficiently justified by clear investments and tangible results.
Municipal representatives insist on a proven link between the price hike of services and the actual reduction of water losses.
Regional Governor Diko Dikov emphasized that the company must provide:
- A detailed report on planned and already completed investments.
- More ambitious measures to limit water losses.
- A clear justification for the impact of costs on the final price for consumers.
Despite the criticisms, the 2026 investment program was approved, including the renovation of the "Kamchiya" wastewater treatment plant and the reconstruction of sewer networks. During the meeting, the issue of bureaucratic obstacles delaying water projects was also raised, with expectations for initiating legislative changes to accelerate the processes.
