Education focuses on well-being and skills, at the expense of grades, participants noted at the National Round Table of pedagogical specialists in Burgas.
The forum, dedicated to “Positive education for the development of strengths and the well-being of students”, brought together teachers and experts. Prof. Galin Tsokov emphasized the importance of skills for character development and social-emotional competencies. He pointed out positive education as a global trend.
Pavel Chepov presented concrete practices for building a positive environment, such as creating “calming corners” and using the language of empathy, leading to a reduction in aggression and an increase in academic results.
Dimitar Dobrev emphasized the interaction between teachers, students, parents and institutions, placing the child at the center. He noted that the school can compensate for deficiencies from the family environment, creating an atmosphere of trust.
The round table in Burgas aims to highlight good pedagogical practices and encourage the exchange of experience, discussing the development of students' strengths, entrepreneurship, social-emotional learning and innovative educational models.
