The Future of Youth Centers: Development Challenges
At a national conference in Sofia, experts, government representatives, and the non-governmental sector discussed the critical state of youth centers in the country. Despite their important role as "incubators for leadership," the system faces serious obstacles.

Main problems facing the sector:
- Insufficient funding: Lack of sustainable budgetary frameworks.
- Regulatory ambiguity: Lack of uniform quality standards across the 27 centers.
- Staffing crisis: High turnover due to low pay.
- Coordination: Lack of synchronization between local and national levels.
Data shows that the 27 centers serve over 457,000 young people aged 15-29. Expert analyses proposed reforms for a clearer distribution of responsibilities so that these places can continue to provide psychological support, career development, and social inclusion.
