Deputy Minister of Education and Science Prof. Senya Terzieva officially opened the 19th annual conference of the Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad (ABSA). The forum, held at Sofia University, highlighted the key role of Sunday schools as a strategic priority.
401 Bulgarian Sunday schools in 43 countries on six continents bring together nearly 40,000 students.
Priorities for the development of Bulgarian education abroad
The policy of supporting Sunday schools will continue with a focus on:
- Introducing new curricula for the Bulgarian language;
- Developing digital tools and e-learning;
- Improving teacher qualifications;
- Exchanging good practices and gaining international recognition of diplomas.
Open doors to Bulgarian universities
Prof. Terzieva emphasized that the Bulgarian education system is fully open to students from Sunday schools. Thanks to stable state funding, Bulgarian higher education institutions are now equal partners and offer excellent conditions for higher education to young Bulgarians from all over the world.
