The new composition of the CEC took office with ambitious goals
The Central Election Commission (CEC) begins its work with three main priorities: trust, independence, and professionalism. This was stated by the new chairman of the commission, Georgi Horozov, during the first meeting after the official inauguration of the composition on June 23, 2026.
"In my colleagues, I see not only exceptional professionals but also worthy people who know the Electoral Code thoroughly and respect teamwork," shared Horozov.
Key highlights in the commission's work:
- Increasing the authority of the CEC and public trust in the electoral process.
- Ensuring greater transparency and clarity in the conduct of elections.
- Facilitating citizens in exercising their right to vote.
- Increasing the competence of all participants in the electoral process.
The commission is yet to elect its spokespersons, who will communicate with the public on pressing issues. The new team includes experienced members, among whom are deputy chairmen Ismail Osman and Margarita Mahaeva, as well as secretary Yordanka Gancheva.
