Candidates for the NHIF management
The National Assembly has published the official nominations for Governor and Deputy Governor of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), following the deadline for submissions on August 12.
Two candidates have been nominated for Governor of the NHIF, and one for Deputy Governor.
Who are the contenders?
- For Governor: Dr. Vladimir Daskalov (nominated by "Progressive Bulgaria") and Stanimir Mihaylov (proposed by "We Continue the Change").
- For Deputy Governor: Zdravko Shushkov, proposed by "Progressive Bulgaria".
Selection procedure
The candidate who receives more than half of the votes of the present Members of Parliament is elected. In the event of a tie, a repeat vote is held, and in case of failure, a new procedure is initiated.
We remind you that on July 2, 2026, the Parliament prematurely terminated the mandates of Dr. Petko Stefanovski and Prof. Momchil Mavrov following their resignations.
