The new composition of the Central Election Commission (CEC) took office today.
This is stated in an official decree signed by Vice President Iliana Iotova, appointing the members of the commission proposed by the parliamentary-represented parties and coalitions in the 52nd National Assembly.
The composition of the CEC enters into force as of June 23, 2026.
CEC Leadership:
- Chairperson: Georgi Horozov
- Vice-Chairpersons: Ismail Osman and Margarita Mahaeva
- Secretary: Yordanka Gancheva
Commission members:
The composition also includes: Alina Dobreva, Anna Alexandrova, Vyara Todeva, Georgi Bahanov, Desislava Abrasheva, Zinaida Zlatanova, Ivan Karchev, Yordan Vasilev, Lazarina Boneva-Haralampieva, Stoyanka Balova-Tsvetkova, and Tsvetan Enchev.
We remind you that the appointment procedure went through public consultations on June 9, followed by a hearing of the candidates on June 12.
