At the Artium center, 120 additional contracts were officially signed for the large-scale initiative "Nessebar is for Cleaner Air", financed under the Environment Program 2021-2027.
Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov emphasized the exceptional importance of the project, highlighting the responsible and consistent implementation of the planned activities. Currently, climate systems are being installed for the initially approved 24 households.
The main goal of the project is to radically reduce fine particulate matter emissions generated by domestic heating with solid fuels. The initiative provides for a phased replacement of existing heating devices with modern environmentally friendly alternatives.
The expected benefits are multifaceted - not only will the quality of atmospheric air improve, but a healthier living environment will be created for local residents and tourists in the region.
The project will continue until 2029, with two annual application periods planned for the period 2025-2028. The financial framework amounts to an impressive 9,268,718.03 leva, of which 7,878,410.32 leva are provided by the European Regional Development Fund, and the remaining 1,390,307.71 leva from the state budget.
All households meeting the specified criteria will have the opportunity to switch to ecological heating, which represents a significant step towards sustainable urban development.
