NRA Campaign: Nighttime Inspections by the Sea
Inspectors from the National Revenue Agency (NRA) have launched a massive control campaign for commercial establishments along the seaside promenade in Varna. The purpose of the inspections is to determine whether the establishments are complying with tax and social security legislation.
What are the inspectors checking?
- Issuance of fiscal receipts: It is being verified whether every sale is fiscally recorded.
- Cash balances: The amounts available in the cash registers are being compared with the data recorded in the fiscal devices.
"Inspectors are monitoring compliance with tax and social security legislation and whether fiscal receipts are being issued," stated Anna Mitova, Director of Communications at the NRA.
What are the penalties?
Upon detection of violations, merchants will be strictly sanctioned. Fines for failing to issue a fiscal receipt range from 100 to over 2,000 euros, depending on the severity of the violation. At this moment, a case has already been established of an establishment that does not issue receipts.
The inspections will continue throughout the night and are part of the revenue agency's large-scale summer control campaign.
