Over 9 million euros for safer roads in 2026
The Council of Ministers has officially adopted a decision to provide funding for the Ministry of the Interior (MoI). The funds, amounting to 9,077,562 euros, are specifically earmarked to support the activities of the Road Safety Fund in 2026.
"The goal is to prevent road trauma through modern technological solutions and more effective control," emphasized the government press office.
Key measures to reduce accidents:
- Digital maps: Creation of specialized maps of road sections with an increased risk of accidents.
- Speed control: Identification of critical points used for unregulated racing (street racing).
- Technological integration: Rapid data exchange between all traffic cameras in real-time.
- Digitalization of sanctions: Accelerating the process of delivering electronic tickets for traffic violations.
The decision is the result of coordinated actions between the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the Ministry of Transport, and the State Agency for Road Safety. The goal is to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the country through joint efforts and new digital tools.
