Increased Police Activity and Uncovered Crimes

Despite the difficult situation, law enforcement officers from the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs showed high efficiency over the past 24 hours. The directorate's official information bulletin reports a total of eight registered criminal offenses and road incidents in the region. The statistics show two thefts, three other criminal acts, and three road traffic accidents. At the same time, the police managed to solve six crimes and initiate two fast-track police proceedings, which highlights their operational work.

Drugs and Arrests in "Meden Rudnik"

Specialized police actions have led to two significant arrests related to the distribution and possession of narcotics, drawing attention to one of the largest residential complexes in Burgas. On August 30 around 11:50 p.m. in the area of the "Shell" gas station in the "Meden Rudnik" complex, teams from the Fourth Regional Police Department stopped a 43-year-old Burgas resident with a criminal record for a check. During a search, three wraps of a white crystalline substance, known as "piko", weighing about 1 gram, were found and seized. The man was detained for 24 hours.

A similar operation took place in the early hours of September 1, around 05:00 a.m., again in "Meden Rudnik." This time, police targeted a 21-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man from Burgas, both with previous drug-related offenses. On "Apostol Voivoda" street in front of block 35, a wrap of a hard brown substance, identified as hashish and weighing about 4 grams, was found on the woman. She was also detained for 24 hours, and a fast-track proceeding was initiated in the case. These actions show the determination of law enforcement to counter drug distribution, which remains a serious problem in urban environments.

Bicycle Stolen in Pomorie Returned to Owner

The quick and adequate response of the police in Pomorie led to the swift solving of a bicycle theft. On September 1, around 10:00 p.m., a 42-year-old Pomorie resident reported to the local Regional Police Department that his bicycle had been stolen from the area in front of the "Bambuda" cafe-bar. Thanks to the immediate actions of the law enforcement officers, the perpetrator was identified and apprehended in a short time. It turned out to be a 43-year-old Pomorie resident with a criminal record and prior convictions. He made a full confession to the police and returned the stolen bicycle to its owner. A fast-track proceeding was initiated in the case, and the police's actions received a high rating for professionalism.

Road Incidents with Various Consequences

The road situation in the region was also tense. Three separate incidents were registered, one of which resulted in an injured person. In Primorsko, on September 1 around 08:05 a.m. on "Saedinenie" street, a 21-year-old man from Parvomay, driving a "BMW 530 D" car with a Plovdiv registration, hit a parked "Opel Astra" while reversing. Interestingly, the parked car, with Sofia registration, is owned by the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" - Burgas.

The most serious incident happened in the yard of a private company in the village of Zimen, Karnobat municipality. Around 09:24 a.m. on September 1, a "Iveco" truck, driven by a 61-year-old man from Sliven, backed up during a maneuver and pinned a 76-year-old pedestrian from Sliven against a concrete ramp. The driver's alcohol test showed a positive result of 0.20 per mille. The injured pedestrian was admitted for treatment to the "Neurosurgery" department of UMBAL - Burgas with bruising in the waist area, but luckily, his life is not in danger.

The third road incident involved a minor. Around 13:30 p.m. on September 1 in Aytos, at the intersection of "Dimitar Zehirev" and "Georgi Benkovski" streets, an 11-year-old female cyclist did not stop at a "STOP" sign and caused a collision with a "Opel Corsa" car, driven by a 70-year-old man from the village of Pripek, Ruen municipality. The cyclist sustained abrasions to her head and body. After an examination at UMBAL - Burgas, she was released for home treatment, and her relatives were visibly worried. This incident is another reminder of the importance of following traffic rules, especially by the most vulnerable road users.
