Over the past 24 hours, 16 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol – six of them were driving after consuming alcohol between 0.5 and 1.2 per mille, and 10 were driving with over 1.2 per mille, one refused testing, according to the preliminary results of the specialized police operation for compliance with the Road Traffic Act, published on the Ministry of Interior's website.
10 drivers were caught driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, and three refused to be tested.
Within the framework of the specialized police operation, a total of 13,423 motor vehicles were checked. Control was carried out on 15,130 drivers and passengers. 3,313 tickets and 405 acts for established administrative violations were issued, according to the Ministry of Interior.
Over the past year, 456 people died, and 8,281 were injured in 6,647 accidents, the Ministry of Interior (MIA) announced on its website. Three people died and nine were injured in nine accidents on the last day of 2025.
