The project "RELAUNCH TOWN: Innovative measures in response to urban challenges for quality of life and community health" (RELAUNCH TOWN No. EUI01-097) found its practical application in Burgas on September 2 and 3. The initiative, funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the "EUI – Innovative Actions" program, turned the area near the "Mladost" sports hall into a hub for active social life and intergenerational dialogue.

Under the motto "Movement is a reason to meet," the "BG Be Active" association and the Municipality of Burgas joined forces to demonstrate how an upgraded urban environment can serve as a stage for sports and culture. The second day of the program was particularly emotionally charged, turning the space into a venue for demonstrations and community games:

The official opening on September 2 was conducted by Deputy Mayor Manol Todorov, who highlighted the key role of physical activity in a quality lifestyle and the need to create sustainable connections between citizens. The first day was dedicated to specialized training for working with people over 65, during which Assoc. Prof. Zlatka Dimitrova worked with participants on breathing techniques and brain gymnastics. Professional guidance on balance, coordination, mobility, and functional movement was provided by sports physiotherapist Petar Karadzhov and the WOW GYM team.

The main ambition of the organizers is for the acquired knowledge and best practices not to remain isolated, but to be multiplied in gymnastics groups at pensioners' clubs and other communities. By sharing their experience, participants of all ages proved that fulfilling communication does not depend on age, but on the desire to actively participate in the life of the city. The Municipality of Burgas has reaffirmed its commitment to continue encouraging such initiatives that use urban space as a tool for social inclusion and health.
