A young man who survived a serious accident with an electric arc four years ago, today donated blood in the blood donation campaign of UMBAL Burgas, aimed at high school graduates. The accident, which happened while attempting a selfie on a train, left lasting scars, but also a desire for life.
"I feel it as my duty. I am grateful to everyone who donated for me back then," shared Hristiyan, who came with classmates from PGMEE. He reiterated the importance of doing good deeds and the desire to help others.
"I know that when you are 14-15 years old, the last people you listen to are your parents. People, listen to your parents, don't do such stupid things, because I know what it's like to have scars all over your arms and have others look at you strangely. I got a second chance at life, but not everyone gets one,” said the boy.
Nearly 60 students from PGMEE and the Construction High School in Burgas participated in the campaign, as well as high school graduates from Karnobat and Aytos. In the first two months of this year alone, there have been over 2000 blood donors in the Department of Transfusion Hematology in Burgas.
