Burgas pays tribute to the work of Vasil Levski
With a city-wide commemoration and the laying of wreaths, Burgas paid tribute to the life and work of the Apostle of Freedom, Vasil Levski, on the occasion of the 189th anniversary of his birth. The ceremony took place in front of the bust-monument in the Sea Garden.
"His work is of immense importance not only for our homeland but for all of Europe," noted Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
The event was attended by officials, representatives of local government, cultural organizations, and dozens of citizens. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov emphasized that Levski's precepts of freedom, democracy, and equality remain a moral compass for our society.
