The outcome of the specialized police operation of the Ministry of Interior
Increased traffic control in the country led to the detection of numerous serious violations within the past 24 hours. The Ministry of Interior's press office announced the interim results of the operation, which is aimed at enforcing the Road Traffic Act.
A total of 28 drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, and six were behind the wheel under the influence of narcotic substances.
Details of the violations:
- Alcohol: 20 drivers had a concentration between 0.5 and 1.2 per mille, and 8 had over 1.2 per mille. One driver categorically refused testing.
- Drugs: 6 people were caught driving under the influence of drugs, and 3 refused to be tested.
- Scale of checks: Nearly 14,000 motor vehicles and over 16,800 drivers and passengers were checked.
The results of the massive operation include the issuance of 4,289 fine slips and 425 citations for various administrative violations.
Tragic statistics
Despite the increased presence of traffic police, the past 24 hours remain marked by serious incidents. Three people died in road accidents in the country, and 24 sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.
