Large-scale police operation uncovers network for theft and drug trafficking

Forensic experts from the Sofia Regional Ministry of Interior and the Slivnitsa Police Department uncovered a complex criminal scheme related to armed robbery and drug distribution, seizing a significant amount of evidence.

On June 23, a large-scale investigation was launched after a report of a serious theft in the village of Pozharevo. The property owner reported the loss of two hunting rifles, a gas pistol, cash in various currencies, valuables, watches, a tablet, and car keys.

Immediately after receiving the report, operational officers from the police station in Bozhurishte and an expert group from the regional directorate conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene. Forensic experts found that the criminal had entered the dwelling by forcibly opening a first-floor window, which immediately triggered the initiation of a pre-trial proceedings.

Intensive search actions by law enforcement led to a decisive moment when police officers stopped a passenger car. Based on obtained court permits, they conducted thorough searches of properties and the vehicle associated with the driver.

During the operation, extremely compromising physical evidence was discovered: a powdery substance similar to MDMA, a bag with 100 grams of plant matter, two vials of methadone, five sedative tablets, an electronic scale, a car key, a laptop, and a specialized device.

Forensic experts continued the search by examining the terrain around the property and found two well-hidden bags in a nearby ravine. Inside were multiple stolen items: knives, perfumes, jewelry, watches, and cameras, directly related to the initial theft.

The two suspects were detained for 24 hours, and the investigation continues under the direct supervision of the prosecutor's office. A total of 504 ammunition of various calibers and one homemade weapon were seized.
