Agricultural producers in Lovech region have completed the harvest of autumn crops with impressive results that exceed last year's indicators. The official information was confirmed by the director of the Regional Agriculture Directorate, Adriana Mladenova.
Wheat production shows a significant increase, reaching 138,000 tons with an average yield of 600 kg per decare. The sown areas amount to 230,000 decares, which represents a significant increase compared to 209,000 decares in the previous year, when the average yield was 550 kg per decare.
The expert emphasized that the higher results are a direct result of applying modern agricultural approaches and extremely favorable meteorological conditions at the beginning of the season.
A positive trend is also observed in barley production - 13,000 tons with an increased average yield of 550 kg per decare, compared to 540 kg last year. The sown areas have increased by a thousand decares, reaching 24,000 decares.
Rapeseed also demonstrates good indicators - 3,600 tons from 11,000 decares, with an average yield of 320 kg per decare, which is a significant improvement compared to 9,000 decares and 280 kg per decare in the previous period.
Mladenova highlighted the professionalism of agricultural producers, who ensured an extremely smooth harvest with minimal losses.
At the end of the current month, the harvest of spring crops is set to begin, with sown areas including 137,000 decares of corn and 181,000 decares of sunflower.
