The Constitutional Court to consider President Radev's resignation on January 23

The Constitutional Court has scheduled a hearing for January 23, at which it will consider the resignation of President Rumen Radev. The rapporteur for the case is the court's chair, Pavlina Panova.

The Constitutional Court will hold a session on January 23 regarding constitutional case №3/2026 concerning the resignation submitted by President Rumen Radev, the court's press center announced. The session will begin at 10:00 AM.  The rapporteur for the case is the President of the Constitutional Court, Judge Pavlina Panova.

Rumen Radev announced his decision to resign on January 19 in an address to the Bulgarian people, in which he declared that he was addressing the citizens for the last time as the country's president.

The resignation was submitted to the Constitutional Court on January 20. On the same day, the court opened a case regarding the submitted resignation.
