Among those nominated by the party conferences for BSP chairman are Krum Zarkov, Borislav Gutsanov, Gabriel Valkov, Kaloyan Pargov, Kristian Vigenin, Ivan Takov and Atanas Zafirov.

The subject of the dispute was the timing of the congress, commented BSP chairman and Deputy Prime Minister in resignation Atanas Zafirov on bTV. Zafirov pointed out that the purpose of the congress at the moment is to change the party chairman.
