Current situation at border crossings
As of 6:00 a.m. this morning, the General Directorate "Border Police" reports intensive traffic at some of the country's main border crossing points (BCP).
Border with Turkey and Serbia
Traffic is busiest at:
- Kapitan Andreevo BCP: Intensive traffic for exiting freight vehicles.
- Kalotina BCP: Intensive traffic for entering passenger vehicles.
Border with Romania and Greece
The good news for travelers is that traffic at the Danube Bridge near Ruse – Giurgiu has been fully restored following the completion of repairs and is now operating in both lanes.
On the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all crossings. We remind you of the restrictions regarding the type of vehicles:
- Through the Rudozem, Zlatograd, Makaza, and Ivaylovgrad crossings, only passenger cars and vans up to 3.5 tons are permitted.
- Through Kulata, Ilinden, and Kapitan Petko Voyvoda, all types of vehicles can pass, including buses and heavy goods vehicles.
Other borders
On the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. The road situation is calm, and no additional restrictions have been introduced.
