Current situation at border checkpoints
As of 6:00 a.m. this morning, the General Directorate of Border Police reports intense traffic for incoming light vehicles at the Kalotina Border Checkpoint (Serbia) and outgoing light vehicles at the Kapitan Andreevo Border Checkpoint (Turkey).
Traffic at the other border checkpoints with Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia is proceeding normally.
Important updates for travelers:
- Ruse – Giurgiu Border Checkpoint: Traffic on the Danube Bridge has been fully restored in both lanes following the completion of repairs.
- Oryahovo – Bechet Border Checkpoint: The ferry service has been temporarily suspended since July 10 due to the low water level of the Danube River.
- Border with Greece: Crossing through "Rudozem", "Zlatograd", "Makaza", and "Ivaylovgrad" is permitted only for cars and vans up to 3.5 tons. Heavy goods vehicles and buses must pass through "Kulata", "Ilinden", and "Kapitan Petko Voyvoda".
