The Ministry of Interior is taking large-scale actions to ensure road safety through a multi-agency approach. Specialized police units are conducting extensive monitoring along highways, simultaneously engaging employees from various structures to achieve maximum effectiveness.
In the first decade of July, over 100 serious traffic violations were documented, related to improper use of emergency lanes. For such actions, sanctions of 1000 leva and temporary suspension of the motor vehicle driving license for a three-month period are provided.
A special emphasis in the control activity is placed on identifying drivers with risky and aggressive behavior. Police teams focus their attention on drivers who perform dangerous maneuvers such as improper overtaking, not maintaining side distance, and deliberately pushing other road participants.
Systematic monitoring covers multiple preventive directions – checking the use of seat belts, helmets, child safety systems, as well as control over driver distraction through mobile devices.
Ministry of Interior employees emphasize the need for complete intolerance towards driving under the influence of alcohol, drug use, and driving by unauthorized drivers. The main goal of the campaign is to increase public responsibility and road culture.
The leadership of the Ministry of Interior calls on all road participants to mutual respect, discipline, and strict adherence to established rules, while guaranteeing an immediate and principled response when violations are detected.
