Today marks the beginning of the national initiative "Basket with Care" – a joint project between the Bulgarian government and leading retail chains. The official presentation is taking place at the Council of Ministers building.

"The goal is to achieve rational solutions through dialogue and good will that satisfy both retailers and Bulgarian citizens," the government emphasized.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Pulev, the regulatory changes aim to standardize the rate of return. In Europe, it is around 30-35%, while in Bulgaria, it reaches up to 130% in some places.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Plamen Abrovski pointed out that the initiative is the first step in a series of measures. The voluntary participation of large and small chains is expected to lead to a price reduction of over 10% for consumers.
