The Return of Bulgarians: A Priority for the Labor Market
Attracting Bulgarian citizens from abroad is a key tool for addressing the labor shortage in our country. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy Danail Rusev emphasized that the state is actively working on creating conditions for the professional realization of our compatriots.
"Bulgarians abroad are looking for a connection with their homeland and are ready to return when they feel support," stated Rusev during the annual conference with Bulgarian ambassadors.
Successes of the "I Choose Bulgaria" Program
So far, through the "I Choose Bulgaria" measure, nearly 1,700 people have found their career path in their homeland. The majority of them are highly qualified personnel who have gained valuable experience abroad and are now contributing to the Bulgarian economy.
New Horizons: Administrative Simplifications and Internal Mobility
- Digitalization: The MLSP is working on accelerating administrative procedures by digitizing checks.
- Access for third parties: Faster procedures for seasonal employment are being introduced for workers with experience in Bulgaria.
- Internal mobility: A new measure is being planned that will encourage people from large cities to move to smaller settlements.
These initiatives aim not only to address demographic challenges but also to ensure an even distribution of qualified labor across the country.
