The great national goals are achievable only when they have the support of all 265 municipalities, without exception. Without you, the link between the state and its citizens is impossible. This was stated by President Iliana Yotova to the delegates of the 39th General Assembly of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB), which is being held today in Sofia.
President Yotova said that in the context of the upcoming early parliamentary elections, much is expected from the municipalities. The great idea for fair, well-organized elections, transparent to a large extent, is also in your hands, Yotova addressed the mayors of the country. She called on them to work together to ensure that people believe, when they go to vote, that they will have peace of mind, that every single vote will be counted from the formation of the commissions to the counting of the results on election day.
Let's show that this mantra, which has been haunting us for more than 30 years, about the way elections are held in Bulgaria, is already rejected, that we can do it differently. And your responsibility is of great importance. Every policy would be doomed to failure without strong local self-government, Iliana Yotova also said.
