A New Generation of Bulgarian Voice at the UN
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the results of the competition for "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN" for the 2026–2027 period. The new representatives of our country are Niya Kozleva and Veselina Denchovska, while Nikol Tsvetanova and Tsvetan Krastev were selected as deputy delegates.
"We are proud that Bulgaria is among the only 40 countries in the UN system that provide such youth participation," emphasized Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hristo Polendakov.
Why is this initiative important?
- Active participation: Young people become part of the global dialogue on key international topics.
- Equal partnership: The program proves the trust in young people as active participants in decision-making.
- Sustainability: The initiative has been supported by the MFA for two decades now.
The program, established in 2006 by the UN Association in Bulgaria and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provides a platform for young Bulgarians to present the ideas and priorities of their generation to the international community. The participation of the delegates has proven its value, including in the presentation of Bulgaria's Voluntary National Review on the Sustainable Development Goals in New York.
