Gyurov Congratulates Foreign Ministry Crisis Unit on Successful Evacuation of Bulgarians

Acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to congratulate the Crisis Unit team on the successful completion of the operation to evacuate over 2600 Bulgarians from the Middle East. Over 15,000 phone calls were made and over 6,500 emails were processed.

Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to congratulate the Crisis Staff team of the MFA on the successful completion of the active phase of the operation to evacuate Bulgarian citizens from the Middle East and Iran, the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Earlier this week, caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynski announced that over 2,600 Bulgarians have been evacuated from the Middle East region. Over 15,000 telephone conversations were held, and over 6,500 emails were processed; more than 100 employees of our foreign ministry and foreign representations worked on a 24-hour schedule, Minister Neynski stated.

We have carried out the most extensive evacuation of Bulgarian citizens to date from 11 countries, Nadezhda Neynski also said.

Andrey Gyurov will also get acquainted with the conditions and the way the Situation Center of our foreign ministry works.
