Georgian Detained for Migrant Smuggling near Tsarevo

A Georgian citizen is accused of assisting 15 migrants, including children, to stay illegally in Bulgaria. He has been detained and remanded in custody.

A Georgian citizen has been detained for human smuggling of 15 migrants near Tsarevo. He has been imposed with a measure of restraint “detention” at the request of the Regional Prosecutor's Office - Burgas. He is accused of illegally assisting 15 foreigners to reside and pass through the territory of Bulgaria.

According to the investigation, on April 8, 2025, in the area of the village of Kondolovo, Tsarevo municipality, the accused organized and carried out the transportation of citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan by car. Among them were two minors, as well as one minor child.

The ruling of the District Court - Tsarevo is subject to appeal before the Regional Court - Burgas.
